Nathan Walloch

Not your dad’s lawyer.

Attorney Nathan Walloch may appear youthful, but he’s far from green in matters of family law.

After graduating from the NIU College of Law and becoming licensed to practice in Illinois, Nate worked as an assistant public defender for Winnebago County. In the Juvenile Abuse and Neglect Courtroom, he won his first jury trial: a tough case involving aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct. He surprised his seasoned peers by winning a hearing, a disposition and multiple permanency reviews in short order.

In the Misdemeanor Courtroom, Nate won motions to dismiss on the basis of defective criminal complaints, negotiated multiple dismissals with the prosecution, and negotiated deals for clients to avoid jail time.

Nate branched out to work for a private firm specializing in family law, where he won a DCFS administrative appeal and was heavily involved in successful adoptions.

He also confirmed what he suspected all along:
that he really can make a difference.

His professional achievements coupled with empathy taught in his personal life solidified Nate’s mission to start Highlander Law.

Today he dedicates his career to providing fair and equitable representation, advocating for those seeking a second chance, and strengthening families—one case at a time.
